Council Rejects Funding for Lemonodasos Project

The Poros Town Council on Tuesday rejected some 340,000 euros in state funding for the paving of three paths at Lemonodasos.
The funds had been approved by the Ministry for Agricultural Development to lay cement and pebble pavements totaling 600 meters through Poros’s famed “lemon grove” on the Peloponnese coast opposite the island.
The council voted to reject the project after the mayor, under pressure from local citizens’ groups including the Lemonodasos residents’ association, reversed his earlier support for the project.
