Boat Strike on April 16

The Panhellenic Seamen’s Union (PNO) has declared a 24-hour strike for Tuesday, April, 16, as union officials threaten further labor action unless a maritime bill to be voted on by Parliament is withdrawn or amended.The strike will affect all scheduled sailings from 6 a.m. on Tuesday to 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
The most contentious section of the bill are Articles 19 and 30 which provide for changes to existing maritime labor law, such as allowing the signing of individual rather than collective wage agreements.
